About ISEAC

Indian Society for ElectroAnalytical Chemistry (ISEAC) was founded on October 1, 2003 during a meeting held at Fuel Chemistry Division (FCD) in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Trombay, Mumbai to provide a common platform to all the Indian scientists and scholars working in the field of Electrochemistry in general and ElectroAnalytical Chemistry in particular within the country from various Universities or Institutes or Industries. ISEAC is a non-profit-making organization presently Head-Quarters at Analytical Chemistry Division, BARC, Mumbai. ISEAC aims to promote the electrochemical science and technology in India, to disseminate scientific and technological knowledges within the country and to advance both national and international cooperation in the area of ElectroAnalytical Chemistry.

The motivation to commence a national forum like ISEAC came from the discussion in the Workshop cum Seminar on ElectroAnalytical Chemistry and Allied Topics (ELAC 2000) held at BARC, Mumbai during November 27 to December 1 in 2000. Since foundation, the Society has evolved magnificently to represent a truly National Organization and at present, it comprises 260 life-members from different parts of India and Overseas. ISEAC is corporate member of International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), Switzerland. The Executive committee of ISEAC, which manages all the activities of ISEAC, is being elected trienially by all the members of ISEAC.

The scientific and technological platform provided by ISEAC comprises three types of Triennial Events viz. (1) ISEAC Triennial International Conference on ElectroAnalytical Chemistry and Allied Topics (ELAC Conference), (2) ISEAC Discussion Meets (DM) and (3) ISEAC Workshop cum Symposia (WS). The theme of each event covers the latest developments in the science and technology in the area of ElectroAnalytical Chemistry and allied sciences.

ISEAC has instituted several awards to recognize and honour valuable contributions of Indian Scientists or scholars in the area of Electroanalytical Chemistry. Please visit the “Awards” section in the ISEAC website (www.iseac.org.in) to know details about these awards and to nominate for awards.
